CCC Wednesday Communique — September 1, 2021

Reflecting on reflections — as we soak up the last few days of summer warmth in downeast Maine, a young boy enjoys the tranquility of resting his kayak while fishing and pondering the mysteries of life.

Happy Wednesday!

New this week:

Motivational Interviewing Workshops

Agape Inc. is offering two motivational interviewing workshops in September, in celebration of Recovery Month. There are two dates to choose from and the workshops are 2 hours long. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who works with individuals contemplating positive change in their lives.  Space is extremely limited so be sure and sign up early. Here is the link to register.  Please share this flyer with colleagues, house managers or anyone who you think might be interested!

Learning and Growing from the Outside

Registration is open for Maine Roads to Quality’s fall conference, Learning and Growing from the Outside, at WCCC on Saturday, September 25th from 9-3.  See flyer for details. Register here. We are planning for the majority of the conference – if not all – to be happening outdoors on a beautiful fall day (fingers crossed.)  When warranted, all COVID-related CDC guidelines will be practiced.

 G.E.A.R. Virtual Support Group Time

You are NOT Alone! Parenting and raising a child/youth is often challenging, however even more so with a child with an emotional or behavioral health concern. Join us Wednesdays from 1-2 pm in this safe place with no shame, blame or judgment from comfort of your home on your tablet or smart phone and chat with other parents who share similar life experiences. If you are a parent wanting support, or a parent/caregiver of a child with behavioral, emotional, or developmental health needs, please consider joining to meet and compare notes with other parents who truly understand the journey you are on. To register for the support group, please call our toll free number 1-800-264-9224 or reach out to your Regional Parent Support Coordinator.
