Spring is a great time to get out and enjoy the great State of Maine and everything that it has to offer, including Maine maple syrup. Now in its 40th year, Maine Maple Sunday® is a long-standing tradition where Maine’s maple producers open their doors to their sweet operations for a day of educational demonstrations, Sugarbush tours, fun family activities and samplings of syrup and other great maple products. Held every year on the fourth Sunday of March, this year’s event is set for March 26 although some sugarhouses are offering events for both Saturday and Sunday. You can view a listing of more than 100 licensed sugarhouses that represent some of the many celebrations and demonstrations happening statewide in honor of Maine’s official sweetener. The listing includes a description of each sugarhouse, what times they will be open and the activities they offer.
At the listening session for the new Governor’s Cabinet on Aging, people were encouraged to to review and complete the Maine Connectivity Broadband Service Survey. The Maine Connectivity Authority is producing a Broadband Action Plan (BAP) to access unprecedented federal funding. This plan will identify priorities for investment in broadband and digital equity, and will serve as the state’s five-year roadmap to bring the economic, health, educational, and social benefits of high-speed internet to all Mainers. To develop that plan, feedback from Maine people, communities, businesses, and organizations is being collected through the new Maine Broadband Survey. Please take the Survey by April 14. The National Federation of Families has partnered with Boston University to create resources for clinicians to better engage families. They are surveying clinicians to determine the level of training on family engagement received during their formal education. They are striving to get a representative sample that includes each state, but Maine currently has submitted no responses. Please help by sharing this survey with clinical colleagues by March 30th.
