Happy Wednesday!
New this week:
You are invited to complete or forward this voluntary survey for the Downeast Community Population Health Initiative (DCPHI) by Dante Zanoni, program manager of The Connection Initiative. The Connection Initiative is a program of the Community Caring Collaborative. The purpose of this survey is to learn about health issues that concern older adults and their caregivers in order to identify a health focus area for an emerging initiative that aims to improve health outcomes for older adults and tribal elders in Washington County and Passamaquoddy communities. This survey is intended for Washington County community members over the age of 55 and for people caring for older adults in professional and non-professional roles. It should take about 7-10 minutes to complete. Other than the time it takes to complete it, there are no risks involved in doing this survey. You can skip any questions and stop the survey at any time. Your answers are anonymous. Find the survey here.

Boundaries for a Thriving Business
Many female business owners find that they are repeatedly asked to do unpaid work, work that is not within their skill set, or work that leaves them tired and at risk of burnout. However, running a business is not inherently draining — especially when you have the tools to set healthy boundaries. In this 6-week cohort led by Hannah Curtis, CEI Women’s Business Center will combine structured discussions and skill-building instruction to help you learn to say no, set limits, prioritize your work, and build and grow a business that really works for you. Join a group of supportive women business owners from all around Maine who are ready to work on boundaries to sustain their businesses together on 6 Tuesdays, beginning April 24th, from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Please note: This program is for Maine-based female entrepreneurs who are currently in business. Learn more or register

Maine Children’s Trust: Our key message this year is Supportive Communities and Strong Families Prevent Child Abuse and Neglect. The campaign goals are to build support and partnerships, educate for action, connect to local prevention efforts, and message best practices. Raising awareness is a critical and foundational step in preventing child abuse. When we take action, children are safer and have the opportunity to grow up healthy and strong. Child Abuse Prevention Month is our opportunity to build support for what we know must happen year-round: supporting parents and caregivers and building the relationships and connections in communities so that families can readily access what they need to help every child.
