Lifeguarding Health Class for CEP

One of the benefits of Cobscook Institute’s high school program’s structure is the ability to offer practical learning opportunities that are hard to incorporate into a more traditional learning model. This year, we’re diving into lifeguard certification in partnership with the University of Maine Machias (UMM).  Designed to align with our other water-based activities, this hands-on training equips students with essential water safety skills and opens the door to unique employment opportunities. Students aged 15 and older who complete the American Red Cross Lifeguard certification—both the practical and written assessments—may be eligible for employment at UMM’s Reynolds Murdoch Fitness and Aquatic Center.  Learn more about CEP.
