CCC Wednesday Communique — March 19, 2025

Downeast Maine recently had a spectacular view of the total lunar eclipse on late March 13th to early 14th.  A total lunar eclipse occurs when the earth’s shadow falls across the full moon and blocks the light of the sun. The process takes about 6 hours. The astrological signs in which the Sun and Moon are stationed give a special nuance to each eclipse. “Lunar Eclipses are about relationships and polarities.” With the Sun in Pisces and the Moon in Virgo, “this Lunar Eclipse presses us to look more closely at our needs, lacks, and wants concerning the balance between Virgo-ruled and Pisces-ruled areas of life. We are encouraged to find a balance between day-to-day functions and routines, physical health, and the need for order (Virgo) and vision, spiritual health, disorder, and the infinite (Pisces).” Read more at Cafeastrology.com.  You can watch the whole lunar eclipse process recorded live at Space.com. (Photo courtesy of Susy Lynett)

Happy Wednesday!

CCC Hosts Focus Group on Using Local Parks & Trails

As spring approaches, many of us long to get outside and enjoy our local hiking trails and scenic landscapes.  But not everyone knows about these free gems or has the ability to access them.  Maine Coast Heritage Trust staff will lead a focus group for CCC partners at 12 Noon, April 2nd, in the large conference room at Sunrise County Economic Council in Machias.  The focus group will be a “brown bag lunch” opportunity just prior to the CCC monthly Work Group meeting.  MCHT is seeking input from a variety of community groups that would be interested in sharing barriers, needs, and wishes when it comes to accessing local conserved lands and recreational trails.  CCC partners are invited to bring personal and professional perspectives on the topic.  MCHT will provide $25 gas cards as an incentive for participation.
