The Dream Fund is an initiative of the CCC to allow children and young adults (ages 5-18) to pursue their interest in something that gives them joy and may be beyond the financial capacity of their family. The goal is to kindle hope and encourage experiences that build self-esteem and mastery. That may mean buying a guitar and paying for lessons, enrolling a child in a camp where he or she can ride horses, or paying for the equipment and fees so a child can play on an athletic team. The Dream Fund allows young people to master the skills about which they feel passionate. The CCC gratefully accepts donations for the Dream Fund and makes certain that 100% of those funds directly reach children and young adults.
The Dream Fund was established in 2016 to honor the life work of Marjorie Withers, CCC’s long-time co-director who entered a well-earned retirement. Marjorie’s particular genius is devising programs that create meaningful change for the people of Washington County. Those programs have influenced the lives of everyone from the unborn to the elderly. This legacy continues through the Dream fund. If you would like to make a donation to the Dream Fund, please click here.
Like the Hope Fund, the Dream Fund is accessed through CCC partner organizations with applications reviewed by a small cross-agency committee that meets weekly to review applications. Providers – not the family applying for funds – please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We are very happy to be working with you in supporting the dreams of children and young adults in Washington County.
Application process:
- Providers fill out the online application or download the Dream Fund Application (printable pdf)
- Fill out the application together with the family
- Gather and include additional documentation such as an invoice for lessons, prior to submitting application (download an invoice template)
- Fax the completed pdf application and additional documentation to the CCC office in Machias at: 207-835-4500 or upload supporting documentation to the online application and submit.
The Dream Fund review committee meets regularly to review applications. Providers – not the family applying for funds – please feel free to contact Charley Martin-Berry or Angela Donaghy if you have any questions.
